Our industry leading Leasehold London conference took place on 20 March 2024 at etc Venues, County Hall in London where over 220 individuals from across the residential leasehold property industry came together.

Delegates had a fantastic day of networking whilst getting up to date on the latest in the industry on topics from Leasehold Reform, The Building Safety Act, Managing Stress, AI & Technology and much more!

Alice Cadfan-Lewis

Ellodie Gibbons
barrister, landmark chambers
Ellodie is a specialist leasehold barrister at Landmark Chambers with particular expertise in leasehold enfranchisement, service and administration charge disputes, right to manage and rights of first refusal. She also deals with related areas of law such as easements, restrictive covenants, property related professional negligence and commercial landlord and tenant. Ellodie regularly speaks and writes on landlord and tenant matters. She is a contributor to ‘Service Charges and Management’ (Sweet & Maxwell) and is co-author of ‘Leasehold Enfranchisement Explained’ (RICS Publishing). In 2011 Ellodie was named Barrister of the Year at the Enfranchisement & Right to Manage Awards and was Highly Commended in the same category in 2014. In addition to her private practice, Ellodie is currently assisting the Law Commission with the reform of the enfranchisement legislation.

Annie McGrandles
HEAD OF PORTFOLIO & BLOCK MANAGEMENT, PROPERTY MANAGEMENT RECRUITMENT
As Head of PMR's Block Management recruitment division, Annie partners with key businesses across the Leasehold sector to support them with their staff strategies.  Drawing on her experience in Block Management, she has practical understanding of the industry intricacies.  

Annie has a passion for excellence in Block Management industry. She works on the TPI leasehold working group, is a trainer for ARMA courses and actively support individuals within the Block Management background on their journey to becoming Chartered Surveyors.
Chris Stansell
MANAGING DIRECTOR, EARL KENDRICK
A Chartered Building Surveyor and Member of the Association for Project Management, Chris enjoys undertaking all aspects of project work both pre and post contract and has lead a number of multidisciplinary project teams.
His career in the industry began at a small private practice in 2004 during a placement year whilst studying for his degree in Building Surveying at the University of Brighton. Chris then went on to join a large global building consultancy where he became RICS qualified. In 2015 Chris obtained membership to the Association for Project Management and strives to promote the professional disciplines of Project Management in his work.
Some of the clients Chris has worked with include housing associations such as London and Quadrant (L&Q), Hyde Housing and Sanctuary Group as well as a number of local authorities including The London Borough’s of Hounslow, Wandsworth, Richmond and Croydon as well as Brighton & Hove City Council and Waverley Borough Council.
Dr James Crosby-Wrigley
HEAD OF SUSTAINABILITY, ADVANTAGE UTILITIES
Dr. James Crosby-Wrigley is Head of Sustainability for Commercial and Industrial Energy Supply and Usage at Advantage Utilities. With a Ph.D in Geochemistry, Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from the University of Cambridge. Dr. Crosby now offers business support to a range of companies who are looking to achieve net-zero and manage their energy cost through sustainable energy solutions.
Joe Mallon
PARTNER, JFM BLOCK & ESTATE MANAGEMENT
Joe is the Joint Managing Partner of JFM Block & Estate Management. Joe has built up JFM alongside his Co Managing Partner, James Farrar. Launched in 2015, JFM has gone from a two-person start up, to an industry leading firm, with almost 9,000 units under management. Joe has been a driver behind the company winning ‘London Property Management Company of the Year’ at the 2023 PMAs.  Joe is a Fellow of the IRPM and a Chartered Residential Surveyor.
Jonathan Wragg

Jonathan is Director and Lawyer manager of PDC Law and the firm’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP). He is also a qualified barrister who practices from Highgate Chambers Limited. Jonathan has worked with PDC for over 10 years and has undertaken property litigation matters since being called to the Bar in 1995. He represents PDC's Law's clients in a range of property disputes in the County Court, First Tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal. His work includes the recovery of service charge arrears, forfeiture proceedings and orders for sale. He has significant appellate experience. Jonathan is acutely aware of the difficulties faced by property professionals seeking to recover charges. The Law can be complex and can require Landlords to demonstrate compliance with a number of contractual and statutory provisions. His job is to advise Landlords and agents in a thorough but pragmatic way with an eye to the commercial realities they face. Jonathan supervises the Enforcement Team and the Non-Contentious Team.

Mari Knowles

Mari is a solicitor and founder of Commonhold and Leasehold Experts Limited. The team at CLE specialise in all aspects of commonhold, freehold estate, and landlord and tenant laws. CLE has a keen interest in the ongoing reform agenda and regularly contributes to journals on the topic. Our team enjoy sitting on various panels such as the Law Society, IRPM, LMP and FPRA and is a member of ALEP and the Property Litigation Association. Roger Hardwick, ERMAs ‘Solicitor of the Year’ 2023, specialises in residential leasehold property law. Shaun Harris

Shaun is the founder and managing director of Harris Associates. He is a chartered building surveyor with over 35 years’ experience across the public and private realms, having previously worked at Balfour Beatty, Ridge and Drivers Jonas (Deloitte) before setting up Harris Associates in 2007.
As well as providing the strategic direction and leadership for the firm, Shaun specialises in the provision of lead consultant and project management services for large residential developments and is currently advising on residential portfolios across the UK with a combined capital expenditure forecast in excess of £4Bn.

Verity McMahon

Verity is a Senior Associate in the Residential Leasehold team of Brethertons LLP and also the winner of the highly commended Young Lawyer of the Year at the ERMAs 2022. Verity has specialised in Property and Land Law, particularly Leasehold Enfranchisement for the whole of her legal career. Her experience spans across a variety of leasehold areas assisting a variety of clients including freeholders, leaseholders, managing agents and management companies with their leasehold properties and enquiries.
