Our Leasehold London conference was back on 23 March 2022 at etc Venues County Hall, London with just over 200 people in attendance. We were delighted to see so many people to welcome back our live conference.

Dr Shaun Lundy

Dr Shaun Lundy is Director of Strategy and Innovation at Tetra Consulting, a large national H&S consultancy, and a Visiting Scholar at the University of Greenwich, School of Design. Shaun also works closely with the Institute of Residential Property Managers (IRPM) and the Association and Residential Managing Agents (ARMA) providing advice, training and support as a member of their respective H&S committees. Shaun supports the Building Safety Alliance as a council member working to develop a competency register for Building Safety Managers and others involved in property management.
Cassandra, who has been twice named Industry Legend at the Property Management Awards, is a familiar and well-respected figure in the block management sector. With two decades under her belt as a lawyer, she has an exceptional understanding of the industry and believes this is key to best-in-class service delivery. In addition to being a qualified solicitor, she is also a Member of the IRPM and an Associate of RICS.
A member of the ARMA advisory panel, working closely with the organisation as a course tutor, she is also an honorary consultant to the FPRA. Cassandra is a regular and highly respected speaker at property industry conferences and has delivered presentations at both ARMA and IRPM events. She has also worked with the Welsh Government as part of the Leasehold Task and Reform Group.
Yashmin Mistry

Yashmin Mistry is not only JPC’s Managing Partner but is an award-winning and industry-renowned solicitor. She is respected and known for her in-depth understanding of complex enfranchisement and landlord and tenant matters. Yashmin consistently delivers expertise around her niche area of leasehold enfranchisement, ensuring the team and firm sustains its reputation as leaders in the field. Her specialist knowledge mean that she is highly sought after both by clients and the legal property press. Anna Favre

I am a partner in the award winning residential estates team of Cripps Pemberton Greenish specialising in residential landlord and tenant law. My areas of expertise include advising on complex leasehold enfranchisement, rights of first refusal, security of tenure at the end of long lease terms, statutory freehold acquisitions, right to manage claims and dealing with First-Tier Tribunal proceedings. My clients include large London estates, companies, trusts, personal representatives and high net worth individuals advising on all areas of residential property law. In 2017 and 2019 I won Real Estate Lawyer of the Year at the Women in Law Awards. I am also a recognised industry speaker regularly presenting on all areas of residential leasehold law.
Ellodie Gibbons

Ellodie is a barrister at Tanfield Chambers. She was called to the bar in 1999 and has since developed a specialist property practice, for which she is recommended in both Chambers UK and the Legal 500. Her principal areas of practice are all aspects of commercial and residential leases (both short and long) with a particular emphasis on leasehold enfranchisement, service and administration charge disputes, rights of first refusal and Right to Manage, but she also undertakes a certain amount of real property work. Ellodie is a contributor to ‘Service Charges and Management' (Sweet & Maxwell) and co-author of ‘Leasehold Enfranchisement Explained’ (RICS Publishing). Ellodie is currently assisting the Law Commission with its review of enfranchisement law.
Andrew Bull

Andrew heads up 4site Consulting’s Client Services Department; managing a team of Client Services and Logistics professionals. 4site Consulting are a Health and Safety Consultancy providing risk assessments, surveys and training for property and block managers across the whole of the UK.
Andrew has spent many years developing relationships and understanding the needs of Property Managers, Facility Managers and Leaseholders. This is a growing task, given the recent changes in safety legislation and requirements for the leasehold sector.
Mark Loveday
barrister, tanfield chambers
Mark Loveday is barrister and member of Tanfield Chambers’ award-winning property team. He is a General Editor of "Service Charges & Management” (5th Ed) the leading legal textbook on property management (published January 2022). Last year, he led the legal team for the Respondent RTM Company in the Supreme Court case of FirstPort v Settlers Court RTM. He also represented the leaseholders in what is believed to be the largest residential service charge case ever to have been made in the property tribunals. A part-time Judge and Times columnist, Mark is one of the best-known figures at the property bar.
Amanda Gourlay

Amanda is an associate member of Tanfield Chambers, having stepped back from full time practice in 2020. In addition to years of residential leasehold litigation experience, ranging from the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) to the Supreme Court, she contributes regularly to the wider debate on leasehold reform, including through her plain English reviews of key residential leasehold cases on her newly upgraded website, Law & Lease. Amanda also runs #LawUnleashed, a programme of webinars designed to be accessible everyone and available through her website. As part of her commitment to social responsibility, she donates 80% of each ticket cost to a charity that supports the homeless or those facing mental health challenges.
Martyn Barrett
Director, Barrett Corp & Harrington Ltd (BCH)
Martyn started his career as a Quantity Surveyor, then as a Loss Adjuster for in excess of 20 years, built up his insurance knowledge eventually heading up the insurance valuation arm of one of the largest adjusters in the country. This blend of surveying, adjusting and insurance experience equipped him well, when he became a founding Director of Barrett Corp and Harrington (BCH). BCH is a specialist surveying practice which exclusively offers building insurance valuations (known as reinstatement cost assessments or RCA’s). Over 450 managing agent practices, as well as property owners, have used BCH for their programmes of RCAs. Martyn sat on the RICS panel which, in 2018, revised and issued professional guidance for its members undertaking Reinstatement Cost Assessments.
Elizabeth England

Elizabeth England is a barrister from Five Paper and a specialist landlord & tenant law, largely acting for social and private landlords. Elizabeth is recognised in the most recent edition of legal directories as a ‘Rising Star’ and quoted as being ‘very fierce and firm” when conducting advocacy on behalf of her clients. Before joining the Bar in 2014, she qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and as a solicitor-advocate in 2012. In 2018 Elizabeth was listed in the ‘Hot 100’ feature by News on the Block as an influential landlord & tenant professional. Elizabeth has a wealth of experience in property law and in 2005 was part of a government pilot scheme providing housing law advice via webcam to members of the public. Nicholas Grundy QC

Nicholas Grundy QC is a Property, Public Law and Human Rights specialist barrister from Five Paper. He is praised in the most recent edition of Chambers UK as “Magnificent. Nicola Muir

Nicola Muir is a senior member of the Tanfield Chambers property team. She is a specialist in enfranchisement law and all aspects of landlord and tenant law.
